Volunteer guardians ad litem are court appointed special advocates (CASA) appointed by the court to represent the best interests of children during court proceedings.

 


OUR MISSION
:
The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Minnesota is to broadly support volunteer advocacy of behalf of the best interests of abused and neglected children.


WHAT WE DO:

CASA Minnesota:

  • Believes that every abused and neglected child in Juvenile Court proceedings should have a volunteer advocate for their best interests
  • Provides continuing education to Minnesota Volunteer Guardians ad Litem
  • Increases public awareness about child welfare and guardians ad litem
  • Provides a network for communication among Minnesota volunteer guardians ad litem
  • Advocates for policies and practices which enhance the quality of advocacy for abused and neglected children

 

CASA Minnesota is a member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocates Association (National CASA). A grant from National CASA supports this website and our efforts to encourage communication for guardians ad litem statewide.
